4MalletCapricorn Posted March 18, 2008 Share Posted March 18, 2008 Now, from what I've seen of Young Composers there are a lot of great musicians and composers here, however It seems to me that there aren't many percussionists or composers for percussion. So I have a challenge for you: write a piece for a concert or marching percussion ensemble.Sound fun? Difficult? Easy? Give it a try! The rules are : 1. Arrangements for percussion ensemble are okay, (original works are better, though) as long as you spice it up a little. Don't just copy and paste into a percussion staff. 2. You must employ some sort of melodic line using pitched percussion at some point in your music. 3. Have fun! 4. All entries must be at least a minute and a half long, and all entries must be in by April 12th. Also, I unfortunately have no way to read Sibelius files, but I can read .PDF files and I have Finale 2005 (I also have Notepad 2008) and if all else fails I can hear MIDIs and MP3s.
