What does your workspace look like?

Like the Generic-Classical-Composer-Clone wannabes here who have kittens if there's an unprepared/unresolved dissonance? Ohhhh, the atonality, THE ATONALITY!!!!!

!>

HA!

(I eat unresolved dissonances for breakfast and unprepared dissonances for DINNER.)

My workspace is my computer desk; I have a small MIDI keyboard to my right and a Nostromo gamepad to my left for Finale's Speedy Entry. I don't utilize any recording equipment other than when I wander into the music room and record myself at the piano using my mp3 player (rare!).

I also keep an instrument stand close at hand for when I compose on the flute or clarinet.

Oh, and headphones. Nothing drives the Other Half battier than me working on a difficult line over and over figuring out how I want it to go.

I work in a special room, with countless instruments, cables, gadgets and sheet music lying around, but the "work space" itself (a large desk with my computer, my laptop, my M-Audio Keystation Pro88, two computer monitors, four studio monitors and one LCD plasma monitor on the wall) quite tidy at all times.

It's where I sit and write (always the old fashined way - pencil and paper), and it's pretty much a sanctum for me.

Omri.
