Anyone know any good books on composition? Especially regarding form, harmony, and counterpoint.

Right now I'm reading "the Study of Counterpoint from Johann Joseph Fux's Gradus Ad Parnassum", so anything similar to that anyone would recommend?

Oh yes. A lovely topic to open up here. It depends on your price range, for one. And two, what you are capable of handling.

But yes, Schoenberg texts are afforadable for experience and novices comopers. Fux is good....why else use what Beethoven and Bach used for counterpoint.

Orchestartion....again price matters here. Beyond the realms of traditional tonal system....I don't know.
