Composition Class/teacher/instructor...what Do I Look For?

Hey....people. :veryunsure:

Not sure if this is an appropriate question to ask, but I figured someone might be able to help.

I'm trying to find a composing/orchestration teacher or class in my area (Dallas,TX).

Is there any advice from ya'll on where (or how) to look? I've searched on the Interwebs but haven't found anything yet. :headwall:

Also, as a starving composer, what do ya'll think would be best? A private teacher, a master class, an online course???

Thanks for your help.

Maybe you could ask local professional musicians, orchestras, or even music stores. You could also check with your local music societies... word of mouth is usually a good call. I'm sure there are plenty of composers/orchestrators around Dallas.

"A private teacher, a master class, an online course???"

- If it was me, I'd prefer private classes or master classes as opposed to an online course... but, I've never tried an online course, so I guess that's up to you.

Cheers,

Jon
