Making Music Videos For Youtube

Dragonas

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I've noticed more young composers posting thier compositions online and adding images.

This inspired me to post one of my Symphonic Rock pieces on Youtube.

I added some still images and manipulated them to blend and morph with the music.

Watch the video and let me know if you think this is an effective way to convey a mood or idea, or tell a story.

Do you think this is a good way to promote your music?

Can you think of any other ways to spread the word about your work?

Cheers,

Dragonas

I'm one of those who only has pictures, and in my case I think it serves the music well. Also creating a good video requires skills I'm not interested in spending time on acquiring, so as long as no one who works with that media on a daily basis offers their help, I'll stick to what I study myself music, and put on some good photographs taken by someone I know studies photography.

Hi Rosenskjold,

Do you have links to your Youtube channel?

I'd like to check out your music.

You didn't indicate that you followed the link to my music video, please check it out.

Any feedback about what was effective and what did not work would be very helpful.

Anyone else who has made videos, I'd love to check them out.

I don't think the video works that well, to be frank I don't think the movie itself looks that good. I think it would be easier to watch a real video, which doesn't follow the beat of the music so consistently, or still images with longer intervals between them.

Well, I appreciate your honesty.

The video was a labor of love and it perfectly captured my artistic vision.

I wouldn't change a thing, I really do love it.

The story of my music video is a based upon King Arthur and The Knights of the Round Table.

So if that mythology and folklore is not a topic of interest to you, then the images and visuals will probably not appeal to you.

Art is subjective and everyone has a unique perspective, that is what makes it so great.

I subscribed to your Youtube channel and hope to see more from you.

cheers!

I'm glad you appreciate my comments, even though they are not that positive, I figured I might as well just be honest, my opinion is just one in a million, so don't take it too hard :) I don't really know the folklore you describe, which is probably a contributor to why I didn't make any sense of it. You should first and foremost do what you think it best though, it's your music.
