Reverse Order Of Member Submissions In Their Profiles

Recommended Posts

Right now if you can figure out how to look at all of one member's music though their profile, it is listed in chronological order.  If they have been a member for several years, their cruddy first compositions show up first, and their newer, better, more polished submissions are relegated to page two or three.  To me, it makes more sense to list everything in reverse chronological order, so that the newest composition is first.  I'm not researching Bach's development, I'm checking to see if Thatguy has any new work that I haven't seen, so I want to see the newest pieces first.

Just a thought.

@danishali903: Mods can't do anything about it. Only admins can change site code and appearance, and most all functionality. Hopefully chopin reads these suggestions, he, not only being an admin, but the owner of this site.

I agree with this suggestion - although since I haven't uploaded them cronologically, it's a moot point for me (even though it can be claimed that I've shown little or no development at all :p ).

I agree with the suggestion. Although some people's music would do better in reverse chronological order, Mendelssohn comes to mind.

Oops my bad, I seriously have no idea what admins and mods actual "duties" are

Moderators do what their title means: they moderate. They go through the forums to make sure users aren't being too gratuitous or mean, or at least don't break rules of the Code of Conduct. Otherwise, we're just active members, doing whatever - like running or regulating competitions. Mods have no other powers. Admins, on the other hand, can do all of that and change site appearence and functionality. johnbucket, for instance, just moved Advertisements and Member Announcements from the Board section to the Community section to give it more prominence and utility for users: ChristianPerrotta recently advertised some of his published pieces there. And chopin could create a Competition Winners folder if he were interested or had the time - neither of which I'm very sure about, since he doesn't often respond. Safe to say, anyhow, that moderators nudge admins frequently to change things, though sadly we don't have any magical powers to force them to make those changes. These are the essential differences between mods and admins.

I've addressed this problem, but please note that there are two ways to view music.

  • One way is through the directory.  Works are ordered by latest upload, then by latest review.
  • Works can also be managed on your user profile (Click on your username at the top right, then "Main Profile").  I've added a date, and sorted works by latest submission.
