Scorecloud

Recommended Posts

i have finale and i can set up a document MUCH faster than they did on the video so it was probably exaggerated. and you can play notes on a piano to put it into finale, and you can probably do the same on Sibelius. in the end its still up to the preference of the composer. i prefer finale, my teacher prefers Sibelius. some may even prefer noteflight. but if scorecloud is free there is probably some kind of downfall, like... is there options for different instruments, or what about adding articulations? can you playback? maybe the video really was exaggerated to make scorecloud win. maybe scorecloud really is better. but i doubt that someone would put in the effort to make something better than finale or sibelius, and then just allow people to download it for free. but i've never heard of scorecloud (and i did a lot of research on which program to get before i got my first one) and i feel like as hard as i looked i probably would have found it before i decided to buy finale. if your looking for free software you can give scorecloud a try or just use noteflight where you can easily share anything you've made.

I'm with aquatunic there. I prefer Finale, but either one of these (Finale and Sibelius) are overall much better than any free software that's out there. Bothe programs allow midi entry and a ton of other features that are often absent in these free programs. The fact that they felt the need to manipulate viewers by not using midi entry in the other programs as they did with theirs says to me that their program doesn't have any other outstanding features and probably isn't worth the time if you have money to spend on better software. Otherwise, Noteflight will serve you just fine.
