Sojar Voglar Posted May 10, 2016 Share Posted May 10, 2016 This is still my favourite concerto I have composed up to date. It was created in 2010 as a response to the birth of my second daughter. The composition begins as a start of a new life: one cell, then another and another and we have a full bunch of them - an aleatoric beginning in the winds suggests such action. The music the becomes more "down to earth" with fresh optimistic expression, dominant rhythms and virtuoso violin part. I wish you once again pleasant listening! Austenite Posted May 10, 2016 Share Posted May 10, 2016 Yup, I recall listening to it a while back. I used to come back and listen again, so I'm glad you've reposted it. This was a very relevant work for the site, and the soloist part is quite challenging. I'm really impressed by the musical treatment of the "beginning of life" metaphor, which is very fitting as well.
