The bird tango for three piccolos and piano

Revisited this one as well. Indeed, a very pleasant work to listen (especially for people who, like me, are pretty fond of tango). If one could find a characteristic of contemporary music in general, it would be this willingness to compose pieces for odd chamber ensembles - but not everyone is able to make it actually work. You seem to be fully in control of your creative powers, and it shows. Thanks for reposting!

Did you have a story playing in your head when you composed this? Because I can practically see these birds conspiring to go to war, falling in love, mourning for loss, and all sorts of things as I listen to this. You paint a very vivid picture with your sounds, and I must say it's very very cool!

Indeed, I tried to portrait sort of regular daily life of birds :)

 Each year, spring brings the mourning doves to my balcony. I witnessed their "foreplay" and it was not unlike a Tango! They caressed each other with their necks twined together, sliding around like two hands washing each other. This went on for a while, then the male was ready. He got behind the female and got, you know, busy. So I closed the curtain to give them some privacy.

Brilliant! I had no idea three piccolos could make such lovely sounds together. The musicians hips in this performance are incredible. And congrats to you for writing such a natural piece for such an unusual ensemble. I'm going through your works for the first time on here, and they are quickly becoming some of my favorites on the site.
