Prelude in C major

well, composed 3 preludes, 21 to go...

hope you like this one,

quite sudden change in keys, pls suggest how to do it in a better. (not looking for classic change)

Hi

Repetition and variation. They are the essentials of this style of composition (baroque-classic).

I mean, the Prelude can take  many Forms: binary song, ternary song, song with trio, different types of "rondó", etc... If you compose in such a classic style, using the great Forms help to organise your work = repetition and variation.

This piece seems to be a kind of ABCD structure, (perhaps the final section reminds to the first one). This is like a "rhapsody", where you write parts and parts, without repeating material. But this is not a classic Form. It's more a late-romantic (I would say) Form.

Of course, you can do whatever you want. But when the language is 100% tonal, like this, your work will surely benefit from the Forms. I spent some weeks studying Forms (it's amazing) and I learned a lot...
