Monarcheon
Hi all, I get if people don't respond to this or know how to respond or whatever, but the internet wasn't really much help. How do you get Finale 2014 to put an irrational meter (i.e. 4/3) with proper playback. Thanks!

Austenite
I've seen a lot of 6/4, 12/8 - in fact, I use the latter a lot. So there's no problem with having a numerator bigger than its denominator. What I can't grasp, however, is what such a denominator as "3" stands for. I take 1 as representing a whole note pulse, 2 as a half, 4 as a quarter, 8 as an eight-note pulse, and so on. I see no place for denominators such as 3, 5, 6, 9... or 0, for that matter.

Austenite
Funny - I've never been able to use different time signatures for each hand in a piano work in Finale. Not that I wouldn't like to - for instance, look at Tchaikovsky's third movement of the Pathetique Symphony (a quick-step march in 4/4 and 6/8 at once)... Monarcheon
With all due respect, the original intention of this topic was specifically the technical aspect of putting into Finale, Luis.
