Perhaps it was your intention, but I believe that, even in short pieces, a structure is good. If you plan it, you can do many more things with the same material. Monarcheon Posted October 1, 2016 Share Posted October 1, 2016 I hear this one as more somber than the ensemble version... perhaps that's just conditioning, but this is darker to me rather than lush. Some of the vertical chords in this one compared to the other are a lot harsher and get things "over with" relatively quickly. That doesn't make it worse necessarily, it just feels more rushed than the ensemble version... probably because of the very sudden-attack timbre of the instrument.
