Here is a piece I did long distance with my friend Warren from Baltimore...  It started as a different piece.. I stripped all he music out, changed chords, and built an arrangement around his amazing vocals..

The scale walk up in the bass is a really good idea. I had some issues with your ii7/9 chords at the end of some phrases (especially in the chorus), I think it has to do with the notes in the melody and the chord that the vocals came from before.
But overall it's a very good arrangement! Good job!

Thanx Monarcheon:

I will have to process your comment about the ii7/9 chords ..  I truly respect your insight into music..  I put them there, because I thought sounded sophisticated and it left a 'pregnant pause' or 'happy suspense'..  Does it sound awkward or wrong to you?..  I did this a few years ago.. So naturally I hear things I would do differently.

I compose music with Logic Pro.. and leave everything in live MIDI format until the vocals are done so I can easily change anything.. I sometimes try chord substitutions as the song progresses. some work, other times  it sounds too forced, and undo it..

Here is a song I did long distance.. A friend of mine, Warren who lives in Baltimore, sent me this song he wrote.. He was not satisfied with the music he had done..  I kept only his vocals, created a new chord progression and flushed out an arrangement around his great vocals.
