markstyles
Here's a song I did a few years back. The Tangerine Doves, kind of a feel good, EZ Funk piece I guess. Loose and Happy.. Didn't realize I was already starting to use Sound EFX (Thank you Abbey Road).. Luis Hernández
Wow! I like that jumpy-funky bass. Well, I like very much this kind of compositions of yours... Fresh and interesting. Yes! I heard the birds singing!
Monarcheon
It sounded good as a whole the first time I went though it. I would be careful about your nonharmonic tones though, since the harmonic rhythm in this song doesn't vary a lot and you seem to have some parts that intertwine, so make sure that all your raising/falling appoggiaturas stay in line, as well as cadence points that don't correlate (I heard strings play an outline of an A major chord in D minor as a way to cadence out of it; sounded off). Overall, great to listen to.
markstyles
Thanx Luis and Monarcheon.. Monarcheon you have very astute ear. I am still working out my seeming desire to throw in momentary dissonances. Although I have taken various music online at Berklee Musici and other place. I am pretty much self taught at composition.. I always appreciate your comments, some are too advanced for me, and go over my head, But I grasping certain points, you state.. So THANK you a LOT..
