Aure_liano Posted October 5, 2017 Share Posted October 5, 2017 (edited) It is my first composition for choir, it was composed in 2016, as an "illustration" for a music theory dissertation. In the piece I used a special self-developed tone-organization stucture, which is based on quart. This composing system is quite important in my progression as a composer. The poem was written by Endre Ady, who was a hungarian poet in early 20th century. The piece is performed by Allegro Barbaro Chamber Choir in Budapest in the May of 2017. Luis Hernández Posted October 7, 2017 Share Posted October 7, 2017 I love this kind of vocal pieces. You play very well with chromaticism! I'm not afraid of "dissonances" and they sound lovely here. There is only one moment I find a bit harsh, in measure 15, not because of the F-F#. It's because the soprano voices end abruptly in an eighth. Yes, it has it's effect... Nice work. But keep working in this area and bravo for you for being brave.. I'm not sure, if it's my age, or skepticism of the state of the world, but this piece feels in sync with the times.. Yeah one spot, made my facial muscles tighten, for a second, then you moved on. so I enjoyed the tension and release.. You actually do that quite well..
