Bowed Guitar

Greetings.

I just listened to Sigur Ros, while I was in the car. When I arrived at work, I searched about them and I found that they have used bowed guitars (not e-Bows, real violin/cello bows!).
Then, I decided to buy a violin bow (as e-bow isn't available in Iran), and start playing. Sigur Ros is post-rock, lots of other bands with bowed guitars are ambient/drone or experimental bands.

I need ideas for using my bowed guitar technique, can I use it in any other genre?!

In my opinion, you can use it in any genre if you are the composer.
The thing, I like about composing is that you can create your own rules and break them.

So I would say: feel free to apply bowed guitar in your pieces, regardless genre.
As long as this technique really does add something to the music.
Otherwise it would be useless to play bowed guitar if it isn't an extension for the music, wouldn't it?
