Etude No. 1, "Lavish Waves"

Monarcheon

Revisiting old pieces again... as you'll see on the score this was from over four years ago.
This is the first in a series of etudes for various instruments I've done. I quite like the harmonic language in this piece, so I might steal it for later pieces... maybe not so arpeggiated, though.

Hi, Happy New Year.

I see some sort of 4 parts hereThe first part works very well as key signature changes (rhythm, in fact). The second part (bar 30....) has its function contrasting with the first part but the minimal chromatic changes make me get a bit lost of those rhythmic variations.

The third part is like the first one and fine. And the fourth part (bar 88...) is a bit strange becoming ¿tonal (C#)? for a while. Not because of using intervalic structures and then a tonal scale, but because of the transition between them.

Anyway I like it and it explores in detail those little variations in time.

Best...
