I believe I finally completed this piece, which, based on previous feedback, I think is in the general style of a European folk tune hybridized with a march.

Earlier I posted an incomplete version, which you can check here for comparison:

Thanks to the people who responded to the incomplete work, for their motivating reactions. Thanks to Rabbival507 for suggesting a "fast section" - a device I have noticed in folk music. I went with it, which kickstarted me again.

It's 2 violins, viola, cello, 2 unison double basses (pizzicato only), concert flute, bass flute, nylon string guitar, tambourine, cymbal, snare drum, and bass drum.

EDIT: AND TRIANGLE!

A dutifully returning main theme is interspersed with a chorus-like secondary theme, and variations and spinoffs on the main theme.

@Hugget Zukker

Yey! I helped someone!

Will give it a listen now.

Yes I remember this piece.

After reading @Luis Hernández's comment about the Gypsy mode I tried to write in it,

but had no success. Mainly with chord building.

I'd like you to give me a lesson in writing in Gypsy in the private messages if you don't mind.

Whenever you have the time.

I like it now even better.

This piece deserves a performance, really.

I wish I could help you with that but I don't play any of these instruments.

I guess I could hit a snare but I don't have one.

Please let me know if you make more pieces like this one!

I highly enjoy this kind of music, thanks for sharing your piece here :)

@Hugget Zukker

I'm getting ready now. It's the second most important physics exam (of this kind) I'll ever have.

It's on monday, next week. But listening to music helps me through it, your piece included.

Also, if we're already talking about folk pieces, and since you came up with this one...

could you please listen to a folk piece of mine and give me a feedback?
