Jacob Hall Posted June 28, 2018 Share Posted June 28, 2018 I'm trying to create a polyrhythm in 5/4; one part is playing 5 beats, and the other part is playing 2 beats. I'm unsure how to organize the notes and the rest for the 2-beat part for easy sight-reading. The first one is Finale's default, the rest are variations on the same idea. Monarcheon Posted June 28, 2018 Share Posted June 28, 2018 From what I understand of your question there a couple ways to do this. 1) Tuplet of 2H:5Q 2) One part is in 5/4, while the other is in 2/2. 3) Line the measures up so 2 bars of 2.5/4 (or 2.5/8) match up with your 5.
