What a lively tune 🙂

I wish the playback felt more human, especially in terms of balance and phrase flow. There was one tonicization that felt somewhat weird, around m. 31-32, I think. Not sure what bugs me about it, sorry!

Good piece!

p.s. love the minecraft pic!

Thanks!! I figured I should have a custom image instead of giving the world my sheet music, I might want to make money one day!! I plan on getting this performed for my church, I'm getting the players ready for it. But it will be weeks before the performance if it even happens(good trumpet players are rare)

I think you don't like the phrase ending on a quarter note, or it could be that the secondary dominat wasn't expected since it has been stuck in one key. The actual pitches sound ok to me..

This sounds good.

However, I don't think you have any variety between your sections. This is titled Rondo... but where's the B and C sections? Even looking at the score... you take the same material from the A section and just utilize it the entire piece -with minute changes in harmony and some contrapuntal colorations. The Rondo was well established by the Baroque Era -so, I'm not sure why this isn't adhering to that. Is this not a Rondo?

your right, I usally compose without a title in my head. I just quickly said "hey, theres a A section and B section and an A section again.. "

I make something and wrongly give it a name.

I'll think of something else...

I have to agree with jawoodruff.

But no variety is also good, in this case you have 4 different entrances for the main theme of the rondo.

So you just need to compose the B, C and D sections, and you will have a mgnificent rondo. You are pretty good writting for much instruments, so that wouldn't be to hard.

Recomposing a piece is a wonderful way to learn, I have do it a lot of times xd.

Great job, it sounds very good :3.

I never thought about that... kinda feel a little stupid of not thinking of recomposing...

mentality of just leaving the bad stuff in the dust and trying again from scratch...

I'll get on it right away!!

  • 2 weeks later...

Haven't been out here in a couple weeks, I guess!

Sounds nice with a piano! I'm not sure I caught all of the other changes you made, but this is a very nice finished work 🙂 Turns out re-composing was a good idea. I've been meaning to do that on some of my older (ish) pieces and just never seem to get around to it. I think part of my problem is that all I can hear is problems and no solutions! Anyway, Very good work on the revisions.
