Ken320
"Estate," played by the late Shirley Horn and arranged by Johnny Mandel, is one of the most sensual Italian songs ever written. There is so much here to enjoy. Pay particular attention to the strings, they are out of this world. Estate means summer. Jean Szulc
This reminded me of "Nem Um Talvez", composed by Hermeto Pascoal and released in Miles Davis' album Live-Evil.
ShepBranson
I truly can't hear the samba. Trying to picture it tho
Ken320
That's because it's so slow. It's in the rhythm of the piano part.
maestrowick
So not a samba... So technically, a slow samba isa bossa nova. The drum part is "Quasi" bossa nova so I get your point. And this is quite sensual. Mandel is the MAN!!!
Ken320
Yeah, maybe a Bossa Nova. A reverse Bossa. I used to know all my Latin rhythms. Anyway, as long as it grooves and has syncopation you got a lot of leeway. 🙂
