Composition : "La ronde..."

Recommended Posts

First of all, I would rather say may opinion might be deemed invalid because I can't play any keyboard instruments despite composing for them alone, but I think this piece is indeed one of the most beautiful ones I've seen in this forum while listening without any real expectance.

The melodic and harmonic development of the main theme is overall pretty neat, and the ethereal echoing of the melody in the higher octave approaching the end is really emotive, I must say. If you could provide the score perhaps I could look in greater depth, but as a first glance I loved the piece.

Thank you for your nice reply ! it's very motivating.

I still have to write the score. Then I'll post a link to it 🙂

I don't often react here because I'm a  French speaker and my english is s***, so I often listen to other people's compositions, but I can't react to them:dunno:

Hello

Beautiful piece. The melodies and harmonies throughout are well sculpted.

At 0:26 the modulations threw me off. I think the harmony is changing a little too quickly compared to the rest of the piece.

I love the imitative upper voice at 1:37. Adds a lot to the piece.

2:07 felt a bit awkward. Even though you are following the harmonic minor scale, the minor third leap felt too big a jump. Maybe the progression C#-D#-E# would work better.

I'm not sure about the last phrase. It seems a little like it has been stuck on at the end. I think it has the potential to work really well, but it seems too abrupt.

Well done!
