It's a very baroque tradition and I applaud you for following it very nicely. contrary to what is written above me I think it fits more in line with Handels passacaglia in G minor, at least that's what I think it harkens too more. very well written though of course. I am not the most familiar with the instrumentation so I'm assuming it's all possible The only suggestion would be maybe give the poor tuba player something to do otherwise you'll have the complaining like Cellists do for pachabel. danishali903 Posted May 31, 2020 Share Posted May 31, 2020 I would call this piece a Passacaglia rather than a Canon...technically the infamous Canon in D is also passacaglia.
