An Agnus Dei in Eb minor. The skill required for the solo soprano is really high as there are sustained high notes and chromatic melodic lines, main harmony is suggested by the string orchestra. Hope you all enjoy this piece 馃檪

Hi Samuel, good to hear from you again!

This piece was exquisitely done, and from a harmony perspective I really don't have any criticism to share. It was lush and moving, with beautiful suspensions and dissonances resolved throughout.

I wonder, though, if you could lower it by a couple of steps, maybe to C minor or B minor. A soprano singing that high will have to sacrifice some diction, and the result will be rather muddied, I'm afraid. (She'll sound beautiful singing it, but few people will be able to understand her.)

Thanks for sharing, great work as always!

This is quite聽delicate!聽 I personally love the key of Eb minor and wish that more of my music by some chance ended up in it.聽 Your highest note in the soprano is an Ab above the staff which should be fine every once in a while.聽 Operatic sopranos are expected to be able to sing all the way up to a high C above the staff so I think that should be fine although the above comments about diction are a potential pitfall.聽 The text of your song is however, pretty well known.聽 I loved how in this song you can hardly hear the beat but it still works rhythmically.聽 I love the soft texture.聽 Great job!
