GenStar project - Symphonic rock/metal

I think the guitar needs to be a little more present in the mix in spots, especially at around 1:00. That's where I heard that guitar doing some harmonic flicks (I don't know what they're really call, but I always love them in metal when I'm listening to metal) but they were really low in the mix. Then in spots when the guitars are doubling the strings, it's good that they blend more. I guess what I'm asking for is more dynamic dynamics 😄

The harmonic shift leading into about 6:00 is juicy. That was well placed imo.

If you plan to record vocals, is there any plan to record guitars/drums/even orchestral parts? That would really elevate it.

@GenStar

Where are the solos?

I agree with @Mitchell, you should have more dynamics. I did listen to the song till the end but the lack of change in dynamics/energy made the song feel longer than it actually is. I mean, every song has to give the listener's ears rest at some point. At least that's what I think. (

Other than that- great work really. If you shorten some parts and stack it all together, change dynamics etc it could fit real well as an actual song as well as background music for a game or a movie

Many of my friends mentioned same thing - long intro and the song is long itself. About dynamics I do not understand what do you mean. I think it is quite good balanced between parts in dynamic changes. I suppose that if tyou listen it with vocals it can sound totally different, because it is different in each part. It adds some power. I have vocals to this song recorded, but right now it is in russian, but it gives an overall perception of the song anyway.

P.S. I can not record solos on guitar, that is why there are solo melodies on strings and other instruments.

It feels static, no high point or low point.

I don't know many metal songs, but the ones I know have their highs and lows.

https://youtu.be/0vC1KTCgaME?t=208 (another example, that's an actual metal song)

*btw, I'm trying to learn some basic Russian,

as a part of my learning I'm trying to look for interesting Russian media I can watch/listen to just to get my brain immersed in the language.

Got any recommended music/art/books/filmography podcast in Russian?

Love the choir in this. With regards to dynamics, I think you could have had a few more sections like the one around 5:34 that could have gone on a bit longer, just to give the ears a break. Maybe this is not a great example, but 'Marigold' by Periphery has a quiet section in the middle that goes on for quite a bit before the song increases in volume again. That's just my take on it and I like the song overall, so good job!
