A story of tragic and love (for orchestra and piano)

Recommended Posts

Not sure what to do during lockdown and quarantine, so I decided to write a new piece of music. As the title suggested, this piece involves both tragic and love, which can be hard to distinguish these two sometimes. Is it tragic or is it love ? I'll let you all decide hehe x

Great job on your presentation of the score and on the audio rendition of this piece!  I personally don't hear the love in this - there doesn't seem to me to be a gushing love theme in this that I recognize.  It is however very dramatic and tragic - especially at the end.

Something I thought could be improved as I listened is the various places in this with triplet accompaniment figures - I saw them in the score but they were so quiet as to be virtually inaudible!  I understand that you place less importance on those since they are not the melody but they should at least be present in the background.  Same thing with the offbeat piano figures in measure 82 and the left hand at 90.  The sixteenth notes in the left hand at 102 seem almost impossible to play imo.  I would hesitate to write like that for the piano as it would require some really furious pounding LoL.  Thanks for sharing and nice job overall!
