What would you recommend to fill the lower frequency range out with. Would i get away with using a tympani along with the bassoon?

Thank you for the advice. The diminshed idea is great. This may take sometime as I fairly new to this but hopefully i can upload as i go along to see what your thoughts are.

Could anybody help me out with idea's on a composition for a short skydiving film, showcasing the worlds best skydivers. I have worked with skydivers and usually the music that is put to these clips is very cliche pop orientated. With discussions with the editor we where thinking of more of an orchestra type instrumentation, just finding myself stuck when trying to keep the piece upbeat, vibrant and enthralling without the dramatic feeling with certain instruments. Any Idea's.
