Symphonic Poem "Andromeda"
Hello Clarinetcola! Here are some comments on your piece (please, excuse my English!). First of all, I liked the way you change the instrumentation each time you repeat the Andromeda main theme. This talent's required to compose non annoying music: you're certainly talented this way. By the way, Beefybeef says your « orchestration » isn't bad: he should have said « instrumentation ». Orchestration means what instruments to put together on the stage in order to play the piece, when instrumentation means what instruments (among those chosen for the orchestration) to use throughout the piece to create different colours and atmospheres. Second, your piece goes somewhere, it's a great quality that not all pieces seen here have... :shifty: You maintain the listener interest using good sequences of increasing tension whith more instruments playing together, then sudden falls of tension using one or two instruments, then starting again... At about 3 mn 2s, I regret the cello appearance is so short! As a cello player, he,he... You could have placed here, using the cello, a marvellous episode. You've chosen to finish on a major chord. Why not? Perhaps it could sound more unexpected, more brillant, perhaps by coming from nothing, one instrument, two, three, a sudden and accellerating rise to explode in F Major. Well, these are only suggestions, I do not pretend telling you what you have to do. Francis :P

Comic Overture
Hello Puck! Great, great piece, really! I enjoyed it very much. It reminds me Mozart's opera overtures, and after your final chord, I'm waiting for the curtain to raise and act I to begin. What could be the subject of this opera? Had you some idea of it when writing this piece? I'm sorry to say that: we want more! :D Casals51 :ninja:

Time, Les Rêves du Passé
Hello J1LLY87! Very interesting pieces! I've no time right now to comment them, cause here in France it's pretty late and I'm supposed to work tomorrow... I promise I'll do that soon. Concerning the accidental volume peaks in "Les rêves du passé", well, I'm not using Finale under Windows, but Rosegarden 4 under Linux. When filtering events by volume, I was able to erase all volume events and your file sounded clear and clean after that. I suppose you can try this in Finale, but don't know which menu to click on... Let me know. Regards, Francis ;o)
