  1. A Dream of War Techniques used... Garageband Played all the instruments via keyboard... Time it took to compose the piece... Around two hours as I remember it... Obstacles when composing... None really...except to usual figuring out of things. Summary of overal piece... This track would play during a
  2. Ohh okay. Anyone else have any comments? Shamelss BUMP
  3. Thanks for the comments! I really apprietiate any feedback. Yes...I'm self-aware that some of my songs really don't go...anywhere. And yes, most of this song was improvised, except for the guatar and shakers :D. I improvised cause i wanted to get a very, carefree feeling, like you don't know what's going to happen next. My concern was to try and make it listenable for...a long period of time, since this one also steers toward game music more than film music (i.e. A Dream of War). Awesome advice though, i'm certainly gonna have a lot of ideas to refine the piece. But what do you mean by the bass is stuck in pedal. I'm new to all this so i'm kinda iffy on vocab. I had a melody in this piece before but thought it stuck out too much and removed that carefree feeling or 'what note next?" feeling that i wanted to get. Thanks for the feedback, i'm defieniety gonna go back and see what i can do with it. I might put the melody back in with a different instrument.
  4. Thanks for the comments! I do agree that Crystal Citadel does go on for a too long. I will look at the length and see what I should cut. The only thing i was worried about, since i composed it with game music in mind, that if it was too short...since game music loops, it would get too...just two segements. For "Melker Fights" I think i will cut down some of these interludes. They're put in there for a specific part of the novel, but for a listening expierence it wouldn't make much sense. Again i was afraid, since i wrote it like game music, that when it loops, the constant barrage of loud fight music might get tiring...since it loops :D So i put a few more interludes in. But since my music doesn't ahve any visual representation, or something to go along with, on a pure listening experience i will try and cut some stuff down. Thanks for the comments, keep em coming everyone!
  5. Oh man, this is insane! I love pirate music ever since i played the "Monkey Island" Series when i was little. This really holds up with that pirate music, it's so fast pace, and always on it's toes...just extremely well written. Awesome.
  6. This is a really good, easy listening piece. I really calms me. I'm sorry i really can't comment on it technically, cause i'm not that sure myself about technicalities. But i like it. That's all i can say.
  7. This has a very mysterious vibe to it, obviously something you were going for. The Cello near the end was really nice, it just topped off the piece with a even great sense of mystery. Good job.
  8. Maybe i'm just bias, but this stuff really like. I don't know, i guess i just really like the whole spanish style. That aside...this is a really enjoyable piece, with yes, like you stated, with alot of energy. Maybe it may be just the midi, but this would really fit well in a Final Fantasy as one of those 'other style' type of pieces, i.e. Vamo'alla Flamenco. I really like this.
  9. I agree that beefybeef went a little too hard. It's not a bad piece! I actually kinda liked it. It's different.
  10. Hi everyone! I'm kinda new to this board so i'd just like to post some of my work. I've been composing around a month, i'm just wondering how i'm doing. Here's a links to a few pieces, but there are a list so you can listen to more if you want. All the pieces are the about the same 'subject', so you can hear recurring themes. Comments about the pieces are there in the link, so i don't have to put it here. "Heading Out" "A Dream of War" "Crystal Citadel" "Melker Fights" "Main Theme" "Inside the Celsa Facility" So there are some...any comments would be wonderful! Thanks in advance for listening!
  11. Anyone have any comments?
  12. I made the site with iWeb, so i'm not sure the songs can be directly linked for download. But i CAN give you the link for the music page, where all the music is organized and commented on by me. http://web.mac.com/ar4wy/iWeb/Ar4wY.InC/Music/Music.html But I'll work on it and try and make em directly downloadable. I guess if you want to review my work, just do any track you want, or maybe as a whole. I'm new to composing so you probaly can pick out some...MAJOR things. :D But if you have iTunes you can click subscribe and dl all the music like that, exacly the same way you subscribe to iTunes Podcasts.
