February 24, 201016 yr The deadline for ASCAP's Morton Gould Young Composers' competition is coming up on March 1st. Anyone submitting anything? Anyone had past experiences? Anyone won (other than Graham <_<)? I've submitted twice seriously, the last time my Kindersymphonie. I didn't win but the letter said I was "among the finalists" whatever that means.
February 25, 201016 yr I'm submitting my violin sonata...my first time doing this competition, so I'm not sure how it'll turn out. :/
February 25, 201016 yr I will go ahead and send one in since I have scores ready to go. Is it common to send chamber music?
February 25, 201016 yr I'll try to finish my prelude in time. It needs to be postmarked by March 1 right?

February 26, 201016 yr Author As you've entered before Justin, what paper size do you recommend? 8 1/2 X 11, but I don't think it matters. They're looking for quality of the score.
