Question about Euphoniums/Baritones

Featured Replies

OK, considering a part for baritone/euphonium in bass clef that ranges from g2 to g4 (lowest line on the bass clef's staff and second line on the treble clef's staff). Assuming it's a slow moving piece with easy phrasing, is this range easy, moderate, or difficult? Could an average junior in high school play it without too much difficulty?

Thanks for your help.

That range would be very easy. I was a mediocre-at-best euphonium player, and what you're describing is something I could sight-read with absolutely no trouble. In fact, I could probably pick up a euphonium and play it for you right now even having not played any brass in a couple years.
