  1. I wanted to dedicate a piece to a loved one, so I composed a waltz in piano. Then I met with an orchestra composer to help me orchestrate it. Please, I would love feedback from this community. It is full of people who can give me their PoV and tell me for example "Trumpets louder would sound better in this part; or make this section softer". It is composed of 4 waltzes. The pattern is: 1) D Major; 2) G Major; 3) D Major; 4) G Major; Coda) D Major Thank you so much!
  2. Excellent Bourree. No comments about the work itself. Nice pace and length, and a tune that borders on the period when the bourree was popular. A minor key isn't uncommon for this dance and you've managed the harmony impeccably as minor harmony can sometimes get difficult. Well, done. Q
  3. Thanks for the comment, yes its a simple piece I wrote it in 2 hours or something. Just quickly practising, I dont really had an idea when composing it, I just thought this sounded pretty cool lol. Maybe later when I have time I could orchestrate it!
  4. Well - it ends on a pretty solid C so it must be in C right? LoL Nice use of extended chords that resolve their tensions. Also with some pleasant appoggiaturas in the beginning. Maybe you set out to compose something you could play easily but I really miss some fioraturas/roulades that could lend this piece an added factor of creepy-ness (at least I think that's the kind of mood you were going for in this). Some great moments in this where tonality shines through amidst a dissonance-riddled angst. Seems like this would be a great piece to orchestrate. Thanks for sharing!
  5. Oh ok. In that case, just to be clear, my intent and priority is to participate in the competition as an entrant. Thanks for clearing that up. (=
  6. I tried combining Hans Zimmer's style with Sawano Hiroyuki's for this one. The theme surrounds itself around battling an Efreet (or Ifrit), i.e. an evil spirit. This is, for now, still a work in progress I'm stuck on unfortunately. But please let me know what you guys think of it :) EDIT: It's finished!
