Yes, at the asymptote, functions are usually discontinuous and undefined. So as the function approaches a certain asymptote at a certain x value, the function might approach infinity or negative infinity in the y value, giving it a very jagged edge at that point. I just meant to describe the shape of your melodic lines.

Thanks for the review. The engraving error - with the empty measures - was an oversight on my part in the first posting it was corrected in the 2nd posting (which had some additional material). Changing the key signature I agree would make the reading easier as well as rewriting the piano part (8va). However, I wonder when the music is in 12/8 would the interpretation be different by the player. I played both versions 3/2 and 12/8 and there is a nuance in the interpretation. The 3/2 feels more "square" on the beat and less fluid. My interpretation - is a struggled - conflicted - forlorn story. I looked up the term - asymptotic- which has a mathematical definition: I am not sure of your intent. Are you implying the work is elusive? adjective Of, relating to, or being an asymptote; (of lines) approaching ever nearer, but never crossing.
  3. chordal means the thick texture with chords, just like b.19!
  4. Good idea 😉 I usually consult the circle of fifths for modulations. Just makes life easier lol esp. because I can't and have never been able to memorize the dang thing as many times as I've tried to. (ADHD SUCKS lol) I may peer into that idea. I'll update the post and reply again, if I end up doing that (which I likely will) and you just tell me how it sounds to you then eh? 🙂
  5. Hi! @Henry Ng Tsz Kiu Thank you for your reply! But I'm not familiar with some terms, what do yoh mean with "chordal" ?
  6. Hi @Kvothe, I agree on everything Peter said. The first theme is lovely but the cross relation in the middle section is a bit not fitting to the style. Apart from all what he said, I think the retransition back to the 1st theme's c minor is a bit confusing. I think for G major to modulate back to C minor would not be really difficult since G major is itself the dominant of C minor! Maybe you just have to introduce the minor 9th chord of G major (G, B, D, F, Ab) and that's enough for the modulation! But instead you have E minor chord placed before the C minor and there's no dominant chord for the preparation of C minor, so its return is quite abrupt for me! Thx for sharing! Henry
  7. Hi @Samuel_vangogh, I really love the thick 3 voice texture at the beginning! As @Kvothesaid the Lydian modal sound is great as well. I think you can write in a key signature with 4 sharps instead. The chordal looks good too with climax buidling up. Thx for sharing! Henry
  8. Maybe Section C or section E? There is tempo change there and with a key change would be great. Close keys would be enough like Eb minor or F minor. Now it sounds more like a chaconne to me!
