So, I got really swamped with life and thought the buck had passed me on this one, and then I saw that it had extended! But I have to drop out anyway to focus on other works for Winter concerts. If I ever get around to finishing the piece I started, I will post it on here.

I apologize, I should have clarified. The cantata is based off of a short story.

So, to clarify, does the work have to be wholly started as of today? I have a cantata that I've been meaning to use the themes of to arrange into a suite, but would that be outside the range of the competition because its an arrangement of already written material?
