  1. i love how it sounds! will the premiere be recorded, and if so, would you consider uploading it? it would be very cool to hear this with a real violin to be fair, i havent played the violin for many years, but i am unsure of the practicality of b. 6 mainly. although, if the person who's performing it is happy, then its probably fine
  2. The engraving is quite good, although the phrase marks/slurs in some places look a bit strange (altho i don't know how much of that is under your control). Also, are they supposed to be slurs or phrase marks? Because in some places, such as b. 3, or b. 5, they are quite short, whereas in some parts in the left hand (and the right hand to a lesser extent) they are longer. Also, the recording sounds wonderful.
  3. Thanks for the feedback. I was definitely taking inspiration from the Pastoral Sonata, but my original intention wasn't actually for a specifically pastoral sound. Interesting that you heard that. I don't like the sound of having an augmented third next to a major third.
  4. Ive attached the exposition and start of the development for a Sonata form movement. I dont know really where to go from here and I'm not sure if I'm happy with how I've presented the first subject
  5. This is my current compositional assignment - the task is to write something of 20th century style for a chamber group that is at least 32 bars. What do people think? How could i improve existing content? How could i expand the length of the piece.
  6. Would there be a score available of this? Also, I am not sure that the instruments would be able to reach notes that high (and especially, have them sound good)
  7. Hi, Here is the first movement of a piano sonata in e-flat major please enjoy BREAKDOWN OF MOVEMENT:
  8. I've tried to only have Solo Bass as either solo or limited accompaniment for that reason but I'm be exactly sure how much is too much.
  9. A movement (probably third; final) for the Double Bass Concerto I am currently writing. Any feedback welcome.
  10. To be honest, it doesn't feel very Waltz-like, especially with the dotted rhythms in the second bar, and the left hand from 9 onwards. However, the theme sounds quite nice.
  11. Aigh so I've sketched out and developed ideas for the introduction and exposition of a sonata-form movement. Overview of the current situation: I don't want to change too much about the introduction. However, it probably needs some minor tweaking and I'm not sure about the balancing of the instruments The transition between the tonic and dominant is clunky. It just has an ascending pattern in the bassi and has the previous theme end on the dominant. I'm not particularly happy with it The dominant section needs more fleshing out, however I was stuck for ideas thanks in advance!
  12. There are some very short slow movements in the Baroque period, the Overture to Tolomeo e Alessandro has one which is quite short in bar numbers, and Bach's Brandenburg concerto 3 has a slow movement 1 bar in length, although several think that an harpsichord cadenza was supposed to follow it. Just a thought
  13. malumCompositor started following Henry Ng Tsz Kiu
  14. Trying to write an overture in three parts and got stuck on the third movement. Would also like to know what people think of the first two movements
  15. You won't love that. Its something truly awful I made that disgraces C# minor
