I understand what Chris is saying.
Pretend you are a nublet. You post a piece of a music and your first review is from x poster with 1000 post. You look at that and you can make a small assumption that this person opinion may reflect his or hers post account. After all in a lot of tech type forums people with high post counts usually are the experts, good xample (physicsforums) So to a nublet, 1000 post can be important.
I personally take more stock in opinion for someone who has been around then someone who hasn't. It is the only thing a person can go on if they haven't been around. After a while things readjust and you find out who is who, but until then, what do people do?
