Wow I actually won the same award for a string quartet I wrote back in 2006...but that was a category all in itself. Nice work, by the way, I enjoyed your mixture of the early and later 20th centuries. Something about the flute part was flimsy to me though...it's looseness bugged me, kind of like Carter's music does, but other than that I thought you achieved quite a texture as the cello and piano entered near the beginning. Nice work, nice work.

Hmmm...it said July 21st for me on Finale Music Composing & Notation Software. Perhaps it changes regionally?

It glitched a ton for me, I had to restart my computer, let alone finale to get it to work, and it was difficult for me to work with it in general because it was so slow. This is probably my computer, but with 2006 I didn't have these problems, so...I don't know I guess my computer didn't like 2008. I'm sorry for generalizing it as "terrible" i just meant I had a bad experience with it.

I pre-ordered Finale 2009 because 2008 was horrible.
