  1. Thanks, I was going for the whole peaceful vibe at the time I started writing it. As to your question, well the synths are playing the same note. However, they are not at all playing the same thing. One is a voice synth, to give it more of an "Ooooooom" vibe to it. The other two have different timber, and this gives it a fuller sound.
  2. Anyone else have any criticism on this piece?
  3. Hymn-20061122T0146Z.sibOk I revised this piece a bit. I think the slower tempo is much better, and portrays a sense of drifting on a sea a lot better.Sea_of_Tranquility_in_D_minor.MUS

Thanks for the feedback Cavatina. I was afraid the strings might have been too loud. I still want them there for the added texture, but I think your right. I will drawback the volume on them. Thanks for the midi Marius. I greatly appreciate it. :excl:

ALLEMND.MIDI tweaked this piece just a bit. Some subtleties in the dynamics of the strings, and a litlle twist on the ending....coming back to the original theme, however coming back to it at 75bpm, rather then the 90bpm the first two go arounds. P.S. I don't have the means to get a midi file for this. If someone would be so kind. i would greatly apreciate it. Thanks Lullaby.MUS

I see people have listened to this, but nobody except for Jen gave feedback. Please let me know what you think

Thanks Jen. I appreciate the feedback, and I am glad you liked the melody. I just started this earlier this morning, and think I may add some more to it eventually, altough it's at about 10 mins now.

V.sibSo I listened to Jen's Lullaby, and got inspired to write a lullaby for my 8 month old niece. Listen, and enjoy. Feedback welcomed.Lullaby.MUS
  9. Thanks, for the help.
  10. AABA.MIDI just got finale 2-3 weeks ago, and I am having a problem trying to figure out how to extend a piece of music. I was working on one of my instructional pieces for guitar, and am stuck now, because the piece won't let me go past 30 measures, and I am too retarded to figure out how to add measures. Could some of you finale users help me out here? Oh and I suppose i could use a little feedback on this piece.....keep in mind I have about 50 more measures I need to add to this, so it is by no means complete(just started it today), but I would like to hear some feedback on the piece.Caprice_1_in_A_minor_for_guitar.MUS
  11. I have actually been working a bit on this piece. I have slowed it down by about 10bpm, and acheived much better results, and started filling in some more bass with the synths on the second section. It sounds a little fuller, but not too much, and the faster runs have cleared up a lot with the slower tempo. Thanks for the feedback. I will post a revised edition in a few days.
  12. Ever hear the saying "It's all been done before."? This is true for music too, save for the suttle nuances, articulations, and slight rythmical differences...... for the most part everything has already been done. So, if you spend too much time thinking about writing like someone else, rather then just forcing yourself to sit down, and write without overthinking it, you will never acomplish anything. When I do find inspiration, I find it in moods, or emotions, usually drawn from a real life event, a movie, a good book, or just anything that you might find intrest in. I find I write best when I am either angry, depressed, or in an overly good mood....I just try to imitate what I am feeling into notation. I suppose what I am trying to say in a nutshell is, I think your overthinking it. Just relax and write what comes out, and never delete anything....just come back to it later. You never know you may hear something later the next time you sit down to work on it. By the way, yes I would like to hear some of your works too. Please post some.
  13. Thanks Mike. I apreciate the feedback, and yes I was looking to take the listener for a ride. I wanted the melody to kind of react like waves in a sea, where no two are exactly alike. I am still working on this piece, but am still looking for some more criticism. Hopefully I will be able to put p a revised edition soon. Thanks again
  14. Lol, no....That's just the default title I entered before I had written anything on the template, before I actually thought of naming it. :P
  15. Trying to add a compressed mp3 file, but I am having a user error at the moment. Anyone have any thoughts as to why I can't attach it?
