  1. Hi all, further to my two previous posts (below) i'm going to try and keep it to one page! http://www.youngcomposers.com/forum/Piano-Piece-t330.html http://www.youngcomposers.com/forum/Anothe...piece-t355.html Here's a couple more to cast your ears over, and I feel I should also explain the whys and what fors. I started using sibelius with garritans a couple of months ago and to try to learn the program I thought i'd try and write some simple piano pieces for learners/intermediates with a view to developing parts of them into some orchestral pieces as I learnt the idiosyncracies of the program. Some of them are indeed basic, and any suggestions would be welcome especially when it comes to writing the orchestral pieces! Some of the dynamics etc (ie left/right hand balance) weren't quite finished to my satisfaction so bear that in mind! :P
  2. point taken! i'll see what i can find and post tomorrow!
  3. I really like the theme from this piece! If I may be as bold to offer a suggestion if you are planning on developing this piece in any way, try variations on the theme, major/minor, time signature, tempo, or moving the theme through the instrumentation. i feel really cheeky! The piano arrangement by the way was very very good, hey maybe try even amalgating piano into the brass arrangement, different, but could really work!
  4. Hi, there are some really nice themes in here, especially around 3.30 and 4.40, and the overlapping sounds interesting (like at around 6.10), but as spc1st says, midi doesn't do your work justice, such is the nature of the beast. I'd love to hear this played though, it'd be cool. :P
  5. Hi, another piano piece for beginner/intermediate learners, see what you think. :P (sibelius/garritans)
  6. Hi, this really is quite a beautiful and enigmatic piece, the opening bars are just perfect! the arpeggiated theme at around the 30 sec mark likewise. The nice touches also include (for me!) the chord change slightly after 1 min, the chord movement at 3min30 and the major/minor at 4min40. The only parts which in my humble opinion may let the piece down (minimally) are 1) the change at 3min20 and 2) the ending does seem quite right. But, who am i to say?!! This really is a startling piece, which you should be proud of, i like the way it leads you one way and then changes direction, and still holds its own. The upset for me is that you don't get to hear the amazing opening theme again, which i suppose can only be a good thing as you then want to listen to it again! thank you. :o
  7. Hi, just a little piano piece for learners/intermediates... :o (written using sibelius/garritans not played live)
