  1. Amazing music CarstN! :) After listening to this, I must admit I appreciate what you said about my Reel even more! You do sound like a pro, and a good one too. If I were a producer, I would hire you right now to score my project. Well, to be honest I would be just a bit worried about the time it took for you to produce this. My personal experience is that often you do have to compose, mix and master much faster than that (sometimes even 4-5 minutes of music a day) to meet deadlines. And that's a nightmare... But this is a great piece of music. I especially like the overall sound quality and the general "feel" of it. Great job! I'd love to see the Magic Show for which you wrote this!
  2. Hi and thanks for your welcome! I do not have Yahoo or Messenger currently installed, but please contact me via e-mail and I'll do my best to answer your questions! Hi CarstN and thank you for the compliments! I really appreciate that! You're absolutely right about the "Zimmerish" sound... I suppose you're referring to the cue that goes roughly from 0:40 to 1:10. Well, that music was written with the the Media Ventures/Remote Control "action-movie" sound in mind. I was actually trying to re-create that exact orchestration and style. It's typical not only of Zimmer (think about Gladiator, Last Samurai, King Arthur), but also of his "followers": Badelt (Pirates of the Caribbean), Powell (Bourne Identity), Gregson Williams (Armageddon, Man on Fire). I know it's not original, but it was a very useful "technical" excercise... and it won a "Pirate Music" contest too! ;-)There are several Sample Libraries used in the Demo Reel, but most of the sounds come from Vienna Symphonic Library and East West Quantum Leap Symphonic Orchestra. About the keyboard, I do have one, but the truth is I do not use it as often as I should. Sometimes I do not play anything and compose with "mouse only". But that's not good, because it takes longer and most of the times it sounds worse. It's just a bad habit... (and I'm not a very good keyboard player). Thanks again for your reply! :)
  3. Hi everyone, this is my first post in this forum. My name is Luca Antonini and I am an italian composer for film, TV and media. I've been studying and writing music since 1995, and I recently started to do it professionally, scoring documentaries, short films, commercials and video games, and writing tracks for Production Music Libraries. I compose and produce mostly sample-based orchestral music, and I'd be very interested in hearing comments and critics about my work. I'm still a youngster and I'm sure I could learn very much from this community. This is my latest Demo Reel. It's a montage of several different tracks, covering many genres. I'd very happy to know what you think about it, both musically and technically. Any kind of critic would be very welcome. If you're interested in listening to more music, on my website www.ghmusic.it you'll find several audio demos and soundtrack excerpts. Thanks in advance! :)
