Abandoned Home

Featured Replies

All right. Here's a new piano piece I completed a few days ago. Just imagine an abandoned home, as the title says....

Enjoy. ^_^

EDIT: Hmm. I figured maybe I should write a little more about the piece. ^_^;;

It took a few days to complete. Biggest obstacle was deciding whether to ever make the bass stop flowing like it constantly does (until the end) or to stop it sometime in between. I decided to keep it going until the end. Also, another obstacle was deciding whether or not I should've introduced a new theme/melody, but, in the end, I chose not to, since I thought that would've made the piece more complicated than I wanted it to be. So, I just stuck to one melody/theme, and varied it all throughout (sequencing, etc.)

With the first part of the piece (flowing quarter notes), imagine entering the home. Then, when it builds up to the flowing 16ths, imagine being fully pulled into the home and its memories. Then, in the end (back to flowing quarter notes), imagine simply living with the memory.

Okay. Enjoy again. ^_^

lovely, very moody piece! meditative, and reminiscent indeed, with many musical beauties all along through a faultess harmony. it has a noteworthy coherence, great decision of not introducing a new theme.

best regards!

Very nice piece, makes me miss my old house, lol

Good job

I like how the bass sounds like the footsteps as you enter the house in the beginning ^_^ Nice and steady.

I would love to hear this on a real piano, I have a personal love for the echo of really low notes on the piano :o

It's a very loud piece, I thnk if it were to be played in real life it should be more delicate to suit the beauty of it's theme.

Lovely ending :laugh: Very beautiful piece. Well done.
