Sibelius 5 and East West Gold Help!

Featured Replies

Hi,

I just got Sibelius 5 and East West Gold library and was wondering how to get Sibelius to playback the East West Sounds.

Any advice would be great.

Thanks!

Right I've recently got it so hopefully can help.

First of all make sure you've installed the QLSO stuff, then under "East West" I think in C:{rogram files you should find a folder in there called "plug ins". Copy the VST plug in and go into the Sib 5 program files. Simply paste the VST plugin into the VST folder.

Load up Sib 5.

Under playback devices you shoud be able to create a new playback device that uses the EWQLSO player - I think its pretty self-explanatory when you get that far. Once thats oaded boot up the score - each staff is assigned a slot in EWQLSO. Open the mixer, check what channel each staff is assigned to (flute - EWQLSO - channel 2 for example). Open up the plug-in interface ion the mixer and choose which sound to assign to the corresponding channel, then simply use sibelius as normal.

I shgould warn you, the EWQLSO interface can only suppost 8 sounds, so if you're going to use more make sure you load in two versions of the EWQLSO interface in the "Playback and input devices" sectin. Its simply a case of clicking add twoce.

I'm not sure how clear that is - try working through it and let me know when and where you come across problems, or wait for other people to pst. Hope you get it working.
