January 28, 200620 yr I'm conducting a string Quartet for a high school competition. The competition is basically place where people whom are studying German go and test their what they know. One of the events is a a quartet performing a piece by a german speaking composer. My group has until next saturday to practice and I want to know what you think is the best German Quartet. These kids are sophomores and freshmen in high school, so piece don't pick too hard of a piece. Also, if anyone can think of some good polka music, that'll be great. I have to conduct a polka band also and I don't know much polka music. Also if you know where I can find some, please tell me!
January 28, 200620 yr I don't know the skill level of the players but a good one (it's alittle difficult) is Mendelssohn's Op. 12 Streichquartette. I would also suggest Haydn as it is not too difficult but is in places (I don't know if Haydn works for a German quartet though).
