Me on the Promcast!

Featured Replies

Hi guys :) I hope you'll forgive my little self-indulgence here but I'm quite excited! I wrote some music for this competition for The Times in association with the Proms and sent it in, the first time I'd ever done anything like that, and my piece was one of those chosen to be featured! :w00t:

It's not up yet, as they're putting up one new composer each week and I'm apparently the last one. But I'd really like to know what you all think of the piece. Maybe I should have waited until I was actually up on there but I was too excited....

For those of you who are interested, the website is the promcast*|*Home and features a number of young composers who have written music based on a well-known classical piece and modernised it in one way or another.

More specifically, my bio on there already, but to be honest it's pretty crappy and nothing of interest. I might even ask them if I can rewrite it because I kinda tossed it out without thinking it would ever get put up!

Congrats. Let us know when it's up.

Hey, it's up and can be found at the promcast|Week 6: Michael Roberts Please let me know what you think :)

Unfortunately it's just the MIDI recording I sent in, and not an actual performance which I'd hoped for (it has been implied by the times that they would record it properly...)
