Fantasia - I need help for upgrading

Fantasia is one of my previous piece. I was very proud of it when I finished it, but when I digitized it, and listen to it, I was rather disappointed... It sounds boring...

Has someone ideas?

Some things I noticed is right away, you start with the melody - how about starting with a two bar introduction so you set up the melody first? Also, it sounds like all the dynamics are the same for all the instruments where the voice should be more prominent. The piccolo clearly is heard above everything else when it enters so the ear has a hard time discerning what the foreground element is and what are the background elements. The end result is it turns into a mash of sound elements rather than a clear piece of music which I think is what you want.

Why no low end? I assume you are restricted to the instruments displayed, but it might be nice to have someone play the tonic in the low end (perhaps a piano or something) just to add some contrast to the ranges in the piece.

I'm not very familiar with choral writing, but that alto part looks rather high when it creeps up to the high E-flat on page 1.

Some bass- (or even tenor-) ranged instruments would definitely be a boon (for example, since you already have two violin parts, maybe a cello and a contrabass wouldn't be a bad idea).

I like it, though. =) It isn't that boring, but I feel the brevity is a small weakness; you might want to expand the general length.

I think what karelm meant by "two-bar introduction" was a short bit in the beginning that leads into your melody. It doesn't have to be two measures exactly, but it should be brief.
