August 24, 200817 yr It's like this: I went to Germany for work, and I would sit together with someone in his car. Of course there is music in a car and the driver is always the boss of the radio in the car. He likes trance music, I didn't, I like classical music. But after listening for 4 hours to this trance music, I began to hear interesting rhythmic motives, interesting harmonies and especially nice effects. The structure has also its beautiful progression of variation addition after each 4 measures. Now this is the first time I write trance, so here you go, enjoy. Don't mind the title, I just composed and it turned out to be something dirty. Because I accidentally found these dirty voices in the sample bank of FLStudio. Sex
August 25, 200817 yr Personally, I think you should make it less obvious that you just took the random sounds within FL studio. Though I think you did a really nice job with formulating things, you should drag some of the things into a plugin called "Fruity Slicer" and mess around that way too, because from what I hear these are just the direct sounds, with fruity slicer you can chop them up and make it a lot more interesting.
August 30, 200817 yr Author I'll play with this fruity slicer... Do you know if there are other cool techno free soundbanks out there or in FLStudio?
August 31, 200817 yr Actually, my dad got me this magazine "Computer Music" and something else, and both of them came with a CD of just random samples. As for sound banks, I would highly recommend freesound :: home page, all you have to do is sign up for free and you can easily download any sound someone has uploaded. This is more for realistic sounds though, more processed sounds come from different collections of different sample CD's. Alternatively, you can link each sound directly into a track from the mixer board and add an effect to it directly. Things like reverb, delay, and distortion all come standard with fruity loops. Working from that, there are nearly limitless effect plugins that are available for download all across the internet. These can act as specific or strange effects that work with FL studio directly, increasing the overall feel of your sounds.
September 5, 200817 yr I liked it, actually. Even though this general type of music isn't my favorite. I've heard a fair amount of it, though--I used to attend the Burning Man festival every year, and the sonic environment there is very heavily techno/dance/house/whatever you wish to call it... electronically-produced dance music, filling the air of the desert night. I always enjoyed the event, so I have positive associations with this kind of music, even though, in itself, it doesn't interest me overmuch. Good job. I am continually impressed by the talent of the members here. Walter
