firsty_ferret
Hey guys, I'm about to begin working on my grade 8 flute pieces, but before I do that I would like to improve some of my technical skills and tone. My teacher was ill recently for a month and I had a supply teacher in, who let me borrow a book for a week. I remember the book was fantastic and i grasped double tonguing very quickly from it, and I would very much like that book (i forget the name and author, although I remember all the writing was in both french, german and english) or a book similar to it. Can anyone please help me out? Thanks, Ferret
jujimufu
I think you're talking about Louis Moyse's "Technique du son pour la flute" (Technique of sound for the flute). As far as I know, that book touches topics of tone production, tone quality, harmonics etc. I had to read tiny bits of it, but I'm fairly sure the book is in French, English and German, so I think it's the same as yours :) About similar books, I remember reading a book on extended techniques on the flute, but I can't remember anything about it. If you want me to, I can look it up again and give you the author and title (I've got it written down somewhere, I just can't be bothered :P ) Keep up the good work :)
