Has anyone heard this symphony, I recently acquired A complete collection of Schubert's symphonies, and I was quite suprised what a piece of gem I got, the collection had all the symphonies that I know of, 1,2,3,4,5,6,8(first,second mov), 9. BUt additionally, it had fragments and other symphonic works by schubert that I was not aware of, for example, Symphonic fragments in D, D615, agadio-allegro moderato, allegretto, symphonic fragments in D, D708A, allegro vivace, Andante con moto, scherzo, presto. and an additional symphony #10 in D, D936 A. Has anyone heard of these pieces, I am just so shocked, that I have never heard any of these "unifinisehd" pieces, if anyone has heard any of these music, please to tell me more about it.

I heard the 10th Symphony a few years ago, I believe. Isn't that the one that only existed in a piano four-hands sketch/score? I'm pretty sure it is, and that's why no-one knows it. Anyway, the version I heard was someone's reconstruction of what Schubert's orchestration would likely have been. It was a pretty nice piece. Since it's not Schubert's own orchestration, it probably won't become part of the general repertoire. Then again, a lot of Mozart's Requiem isn't his own orchestration either, fleshed out by Eibler, Sussmayr et alia - and some of it isn't even his composition (the Sanctus and Benedictus) - but it's an indispensible part of the rep. It's anyone's guess.
