June 26, 200916 yr That's a recording of an organ work performed at the end of a Mass in the subterranean basilica in Lourdes, France. Listen I don't know if is named "toccata" but it sounds like one ... I'm sure is a work of a French composer, probably the same guy who's playing, Mr. Paul Lecot, (i don't know if he's still the "chief" there)... if someone can confirm is a work by Mr.Lecot, and the name of the piece, I'll be grateful, ... I need the name of the piece to find the score, I want to play it, but the initial "draw" is to fast to be know by hear. You can cleary listen is based on the Gregorian theme "Salve Regina" ... the name might include that. Details about the Organ have anyone have heard it ?... (in Europe mostly)
June 30, 200916 yr I have never heard it, it sounded like a bunch of blurry white noise with a bass thing going.
July 4, 200916 yr Author Oh come on.... you don't appreciate French Organists playing in French Organs, that's a super performance
July 15, 200916 yr might it jus be an improvisation...? ooh i'm so jealous you got to hear that! i'm going in a couple of weeks, hopefully i will have a chance to catch a super wacky organ piece! (an awesome accoustic for a church that looks like a bomb raid shelter)
July 16, 200916 yr Author if you're in France, (Paris mainly) your chances of listening something like that are "abundant" If you go to Lourdes check (if possible) if Lecot is still the organist or now is somebody "younger" .... that's him: might look older haha ....
August 25, 200916 yr Author no, is alright to reactivate old thread ....and this one is not so old .... maybe posting in a thread started 4 years ago would be .... improperly ? yeah I know it does sound very French .... but without the name of the composer I can not search the score, (at least I don't know how) .... meanwhile I'll search works of that guy in the photo because I feel is one of his own compositions ....
