4-part Harmonic Analysis

Featured Replies

Hello, all. New here and not sure if this is the right forum or even the right website to ask this, but I figured it's a site full of people who understand music and might be able to help me out!

I'm a pianist and not much of a composer myself, but I've had a bit of music theory training and in an effort to keep up with it I try to give myself little challenges every once in a while.

I was recently listening to the score from Kingdom of Heaven and one of the tracks (18. Path to Heaven) reminded me of the kind of 4-part harmony exercises I had to do in theory class, where you had to notate the soprano and bass lines and give a roman numeral chord analysis. I can get a lot of it, but I admit I'm an amateur and have a pretty untrained ear.

Here's a link to what I have so far (sorry for the quality, I just discovered my scanner is broken, so I had to take a picture!):

So, does anyone care to weigh in with ideas on the chords and different voices? Did I get anything wrong so far? Ideally it would be neat to know what all 4 (I think there's 4, right?) voices are doing but sometimes it's hard to tease that all out from a recording.

Here's a link to the piece:

Thanks, and hopefully this will be a neat learning experience!
